Can I see the design before I book a session:

Yes, if you book a consultation! That's the only way to see sketch concepts and possibly final designs before booking a tattoo session. 

[reminder: Final designs are original wall art pieces the client takes home after the tattoo is finished. Except for "FLO" designs.]

Do you charge for consultations:

No, booking only requires the tattoo deposit, which goes towards ones tattoo: This is to ensure commitment, as consultation requires me to carve out time so you are my sole focus in concepting designs.

What payments are accepted:

Can I get someone else to tattoo your design:

NEVER. Please don't be disrespectful even by asking. My designs are exclusively for those who book me. I do not design for others to tattoo. I'm exclusive to those who book me.

Can I bring my own design for you to tattoo:

No. Though I am open to you bringing a loose sketch you created yourself and having me use it as inspiration in reimagine it in my own style and execution! 

Can I show you references:

No. My imagination + your description is all that is needed. I'll take care of whatever else I may need.

Do you do cover-ups:

Depends. I HIGHLY prefer a clear canvas or fill in, BUT I'm very open to adding to or building on an existing tattoo. Don't be afraid to ask.

Do I need an idea before I book:

No. I'm very open to artist reign, where I do whatever I want and you choose which you vibe with the most. 

Is there a chance you would decline a booking :

Yes, if it's clear the client didn't research me, and didn't read anything.

Are there subjects you'd LOVE to tattoo :

• Creepy/horror, fantasy portraits, anything imaginary really!

• LARGE SCALE, half sleeve and bigger! 

• Oh, and fan art, in my own vision of course. I won't do fan art of franchises i don't like tho (afro samurai, harry potter, etc.) Feel free to ask!

Are there things you WON'T tattoo :

I DO NOT offer script/words by themseles (not part of an illustration, comic panel, etc.) , photo realism, txt/script, copying or mimicking someone elses work, anything cliche and typical.

No anthro tongue kissing, scat, self deprication, shota, lolita, beastiality, someone elses design without their permission (excluding mainstream characters: dbz, ghibli, etc.).

The tattooing artistry and on-site location of fydbac, llc: the art career of Jainai Jeffries, In operation since Fall 2009, and established as an LLC in 2017. Genital tattoos

Fee: +$1000 (anus is +$2000)

Tattoos within a 2 inch circumference of any genitals (vagina, penis, scrotum, asshole), will require this additional fee. Which does NOT go toward the tattoo itself. Such areas require more care, and have more risk, so the fee is necessary and not negotiable.

When to contact if art is delayed |

On the off chance I am delayed, I will send update emails no less than twice a month: which typically just says it's still on my plate. If the delivery time frame (14-21 business days) has passed...

• Please allow a grace period of TWO WEEKS of no update before emailing me: at that point, you'd know for sure the emails were eaten or you missed it (check spam and search "fydbac").

• Please don’t email me before that time, (like a day after the delivery time frame): as it’s very distracting. If I had something, I would have sent it. So emailing me about it will incur no results besides me saying “I’m sorry I’m delayed, please be patient”.

• Though a deadline is a deadline no matter the project type (sketch or pro), I cannot keep a continuous update on sketch commissions as I would Pro. I ask you keep more patience for sketch commissions, and do not distract me before the time frames mentioned.

The biggest reasons for one not seeing their art delivered is:

• They forget to check the inbox of the email they told me to deliver to.

• They forget to check their invoice for when their piece will be delivered.

So here's a check list before you go through any trouble :)

• Please allow no less than the above time frame of no update from me before messaging me.

• Triple check your email, spam, search for “stream” or “overnight”. If you still can’t find it after the time limit has passed, then feel free to email me to request I resend it.

• Please don’t message me before that time: as it’s distracting, and if I had something, I would have sent it. So messaging me about it will incur no results besides me saying along the lines of, “I’m sorry I’m delayed, please be patient”.

• Because major projects, (PRO, company, etc.), come before all sketch commissions services, I am sometimes delayed. If I anticipate a delay, I'll email the client with an extension. But if the delay is not anticipated (I miss the deadline without an extension notice), then I'll email the client between 2-7 days after the missed deadline. Please, still don't message me before the time mentioned above.

• If more than a few days late, as an apology, I always provide extra goods in the order (example: a fashion design for base characo orders, a free sketch for day-sketch orders, more detail/cleanness, etc.).

Deposits

NON REFUNDABLE. NO exceptions.

How to Reschedule/ Cancel: Manage your booking by signing in.

If you can't make the original appointment time, you must reschedule yourself.

• BEFORE 48 hrs of your appointed time: The deposit will still apply to your session.

• WITHIN 48 hours of your appointed time, then you forfeit your deposit and must pay another deposit.

• If you can't manage your booking online, CONTACT ME, until you get a reply! Texting is best! You have not successfully tried to contact me if I don't reply within an hour. I WILL reply. No excuses, no contact means you forfeit your deposit.

Unexpected life happened and it's past the time frame mark?

I'm afraid refunds are STILL not allowed. Please don't ask to be an exception. Rescheduling or putting the session on hold (BEFORE the time frame) is the best option.

Consultation

Please bring the following (all are mandatory):

• A clean healthy body, and positive spirits!

• Valid ID (in case we proceed to a tattoo session).

• NO outside images (unless we discussed it). Not for inspiration, exact copying, etc.

• Unless you are getting a shared tattoo, it's preferred we engage in the consultation privately.

Best for if you want a finalized design before booking a tattoo session. Finalized designs are actual original wall art you take home after the tattoo version is complete!

Have a consultation during a tattoo event will LOCK IN the lower rate of the tattoo event!

Only those getting tattooed may enter the suite during consultation. No guest allowed at this time, not even in the waiting room.

Or want to take the illustrative version home before the tattoo is finished?

To take home the original piece (whether you wanted just wall art, or want it before the tattoo version is finished), you must pay a Take home rate: which is only determined AFTER I finish the piece.

• If also getting the tattoo version, then the rate is applied as credit towards the tattoo sessions.

Design REVISIONS?

• ONE complementary SMALL revision allowed: Described in under 50 characters in length.

• ALL revision requests after that, NO MATTER HOW SMALL, requires at least an $100 fee EACH request. No exceptions. Does not go towards tattoo or take home cost.

. About 'Color palettes'

• Deposits apply towards 'color palette': done same day as consultation.

• Can be requested BEFORE future session of main piece, or during 1st session of piece.

• Your choice to have the palette as a stand alone, or be covered by the main tattoo project.

Client selection of colors to tattoo on a small area so they will have a better idea of what colors they like with their own melanated skin!

. Appointment preparation

Please be sure to come:

+ Freshly rested, feed, and body clean!

+ Valid ID (drivers license, state ID, or passport) that'll match the name in your booking info.

• Starting AT LEAST 7 days before your appointment, HYDRATE and MOISTURIZE daily! THis will help the tattooing process IMMENSLY

• If possible, moisturize tattoo area with silicone based moisturizer 30-40 min. before arrival. (NO petroleum or Shea butter: Just silicone based)

• ONE adult guest allowed.

LEAVE YOUR KIDS AT HOME. I will tell you to reschedule + charge the fee if you bring a child under 15 with you. NOTE: when you arrive, if front doors are locked, please txt "your booking has arrived" to 424-236-2382

Please read thru the following if interested in having me travel out to YOU; either house call or for an event. Travel fees cover everything except for the tattoo itself; transportation, any hotel, pet sitter, and other such travel expenses. As well as your convenience of having me leave my secure familiar sanitized space.

NOTE:

Travel fee is ADDITIONAL to tattoo project costs, which is "day rate"(if custome piece) or "flat rate" (if pre-made design). So one must calculate day rate/flat fee + travel fee in their consideration of this convenience.

Travel MUSTS, non-negotiable:

• Tattoo area must be in a bare room or space (at least 10 x 10), and a private bathroom.

• If local, my dog may need to come with me; who will be safely crated during our stay.

• Fee must be paid AFTER travel contract has been signed and BEFORE booking date!

• Upon arrival, payment for day rate must be paid before I set up.

• Location: of my choosing (possibly hotel). Unless you prefer to choose: which I'd need to approve (i'd requests pics of exterior and interior) and will require an additional fee on top of the travel fee.

• Your total payment (travel + day rate), can cover up to TWO guests (which includes the host if they decide to get a tattoo).

• Basic Benefiters : At least $50 off hourly, at least $100 off 'day', at least $150 off 'Flat'.

If 'Day rate' project falls short of a full day on the LAST session: the left over can be used as credit towards a future project.

fydbac, llc

The creator of said artwork, Maintains exclusive rights to profit (excluding reselling), commercial, and publication. All remaining non-profit rights are co-owned between fydbac, llc (creator), and the commissioner (client).

Client

The person/company who commissioned or ordered an original piece made solely by Jainai Jeffries, maintains co-ownership with fydbac, llc of all NON-PROFIT rights; which includes reposting, recoloring, preliminary design base, reproduction, any non-profit projects.

Client does not hold PROFIT rights: which include profit, commercial, and publication

• The work is made for you, the client, to co-own for personal entertainment only.
• I would love to see whatever reincarnations are made (re-color, comic, story, etc.). The rights to use the given artwork for commercial (profitable) reasons of strictly prohibited, and exclusive to fydbac, llc .

Usage by co-owner (client)

With any transaction, you agree that under any circumstances, there is to be...

• NO profit
• NO transfer of co-ownership without prior explicit approval.
• NO removal of any signature/stamp/hanko/watermark and etc.
• NO violation of my rights as the creator, owner, and full copyright holder.
• Full credit mention

If you wish to share online: you must include a clearly visible credit and link back to me; If recolored, you must explicitly mention it is a collaboration with me as the line-art creator.

Species |

ALL fydbac species are a closed species: they are exclusively owned by fydbac, llc.

We share only the character design. Which means the following is strictly prohibited:

• Taking any claim in the species.
• Creating a new character of the same species.
• Alter the species (see criteria on how to acquire full rights below).

Acquiring full rights |

fydbac,llc maintain profit/commercial rights for all work (concept, illustration, etc.), but we're co-owner with the client in all other rights, (reproduction, non-profit use, etc.).

If you wish to be the sole owner (where we release all rights; exclusive and co-ownership), there are one of two options:

Evolve the design

• If you want exclusive rights without signing a licensing contract with us, then you must evolve the work that we, fydbac,llc, believe is at least 75% different than the original: simply email me to get approval. To gain approval, we must see the character (and in some cases, species), as being totally different from the original (not sharing any distinct traits in design or detail).

licensing/leasing fee

• This releases my exclusive rights and co-ownership for the given work as is or alterations of up to 70%. Making you sole owner for as long as the contract dictates. The fee depends heavily on the order in question (concept design, characo, illustration, t-shirt design, etc.).
• Range: $1000 - $5000 for 12 months/annual renewal based on previous year.
• During the initial 12 months, you are the sole owner: free to use it in any commercial/ profitable endeavors until it's time to renew the contract. At the end of the term, profit rights for the work and full species rights transfer back to me exclusively: you keep reproduction rights until you decide to give the design away ( see above). If I wish to do anything with the design, (like publish), I'd need your permission.
• Species rights, typically for any concept designs: during the contract, I would not be able to make any characters of the species without your permission. If you made different characters of the species during the contract, you keep said character designs, but the species rights transfers back to me exclusively.
• A few stipulations would be included: such as no resale without my approval, no claiming to be the creator of the species/work as is, etc.

Non-profit commercial use |

The same applies: Solely because I cannot trust strangers to be genuine in their non-profit.

. What are flash designs .

Are what you see on the walls of most typical tattoo studios. The boutique will never have 'flash'.

I DO NOT have flash, as I never repeat or recycle designs. What I offer are Blinks + FLO, since ALL pre-made designs....

• Are a flat rate price!

• Can be bought as wall art alone or as a tattoo.

• Original premade artworks for both wall art and tattoo, where if chosen, will be taken down forever and never repeated on another. Once gone, they're GONE.

• Change requests are only for the tattooed versions and very limited.

• Blink sheets [baby blinks]: small designs presented together on a single sheet: Highly recommended for 'tattoo events'. Size and design can be expanded on. (at extra cost)

• Medium blinks: must be AT LEAST 6 inches. Can be sized up. CANNOT be sized down. Minimum changes allowed.

• Large blinks: must be AT LEAST 10 inches. CANNOT be sized down. Minimum changes allowed.

Request a "fam member" of the design! Meaning a new piece with the same subject and style! The result will NOT be a copy of the original, simply inspired by it / based on the same theme. Hence, "fam"

'FAM'

Once the original design is taken, it becomes a "fam", with family members: where folk can get a new design of the same subject and style + different everything else. Hence, different design, but same "fam"(family). Example: blink #46 fam

FUND PERKS are Art fund, gift cards, and codes:

• Non Benefiters: can only use ONE perk per project

• Benefiters: can use up to TWO perks per project

'Art fund' is to help those who'd like to gradually save up for their own art piece: whether a tattoo, wall art, or etc, this fund will assist you. Like some other perks of the program, the Art Fund varies with each level.

• Art funds are INVALIDATED if you leave the program for more than 24 hours and haven't cashed out or switched to a different level.

Tip:

Benefiters may only use up to TWO benefiter perks per project, folks usually have the fund fill ONE of the two perk allowed, and use the "automatic lower rate" as the 2nd allowed perk.

FUND Usage

Art funds can be used for Tattoos (custom and pre-mades) and other art commissions, (sketch, adopts, etc.).

Concerning tattoos:

If your fund can cover the ENTIRE session (flat rate, hourly, or day rate), I ask you only use it to pay for 90% of the session cost, OR give at least $150. This fund limit doesn't apply if my books are closed for at least 2 months before I reopen!

One is STILL saving by using the lower rate + fund.

FUND use during tattoo Guest Spots:

• May only be used to pay up to 50% to 75% of the session.

Guest spots are when I am tattooing at a location (my host) temporarily. Each location have their own procedures, of which I fully abide by, which includes a minimum rate they request artists charge.

During guest spots, If your art fund / credit can fully cover the tattoo, I must ask you only use it to pay for at most HALF of the session cost. The remaining credit being saved for later use!

Benefiter Art fund Levels

If the level is not listed, then it does not have an Art fund.

Unless otherwise stated, Art funds:

• Saved/unused cashed out funds, do not expire.

• Have no maximum limit.

• Accumulation is the same as your member level per month: As long as you have at least 1 month of accumulation, you can cash out.

• Art funds expire if you leave the program for more than 24 hours and haven't cashed out or switched to a different level.

• Art funds are forfeit if you do not cash out before "Reset".

Important:

All f.a.q. entries are true and up to date. They reserve the right to change without warning, so please be sure to check back for any possible changes, (which usually only effect new Benefiters. If a change effects active Benefiters, they will be fully informed in an engagement email).

.TIP.

Cash outs can be saved, collected and combined for future use: So you MUST cash out BEFORE they reset if you want to save the accumulation and combine for a later use!

Changing levels?

Once you join a level with an 'art fund', you will always have an art fund that accumulates at your level amount, as long as you are a member.

• So if you join at Epind $5, then later change to Star Dust $1, then your monthly accumulation will change accordingly.

• Art funds are only forfeit if you leave the program for more than 24 hours and don't cash out.

Example:

Epi level: 1st Cash out at 9 months = $90 promo code. 2nd cash out at 11 months = $110 promo code.

How to SAVE your art fund:

Basic Benefiters (before "Prince" level), where your fund expires Dec. 31st, you MUST save your fund by using the following:

Can we talk about the design before I book?

• Afraid not, as a booked consultation is the time set aside to discuss the design; unless we've already had the consultation and we're going over the finalized design.

Can you pitch ideas before I book?

• No, please book a consultation fo go over possible ideas.

Create a site account, then make sure your account notifications are set to how you want them.

OC's that don't belong to you? Only if the owner gives explicit permission to be personally. Anything less is not trustworthy. No exceptions.

Mainstream | Rule 34?: Mainstream characters (dbz, naruto, one piece, etc.): Are accepted.

NO. Remember, the studio mission is to create original tattoos, no copying, no imitation. Exceptions may be made if the piece falls under any of the below, or just seems like it'll be fun to do.

• Personal art: You are free to message me or bring it in consultation to see if I'm interested.

• Another person's art: ONLY if you bring explicit permission from the artist, or they message me their permission themself. 

If said outside artwork does not fall into any of the above, then it's NOT ACCEPTABLE. I will not tattoo it under any circumstances.

So, to bring in outside work, it must fall under the above categories AND seem fun to do.
